The Constitution of Ukraine: An Intellectual Contest at KhNUIA
НАВС

Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs hosted a legal brain ring dedicated to Lawyer's Day in Ukraine and the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine. The teams demonstrated their erudition, quick thinking, and knowledge of the Fundamental Law, the history of its adoption, and the constitutional foundations of the Ukrainian state.

Teams of students from Educational and Scientific Institutes Nos. 1–5 took part in the contest. Participants answered questions on constitutional law and the state system of Ukraine. To win, they needed not only a good command of the material but also the ability to analyse questions quickly, find the right answers, and agree on decisions within the team.

The event was opened by First Vice-Rector of KhNUIA Viktor Vasylenko and Vice-Rector Oleksandr Muzychuk, who joined the participants online. In their speeches, they emphasised the significance of the Constitution for protecting human rights and freedoms, establishing the foundations of the state system, and building a state governed by the rule of law. Knowledge of constitutional principles and an understanding of their role in society are an important part of the professional training of future law enforcement officers and lawyers.

The teams' answers were assessed by a jury chaired by Olena Stativka, Head of the Department of Language Training. The jury also included Vitalii Kavkalo, Head of the Educational Security Service Unit of the Kamianets-Podilskyi District Police Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Khmelnytskyi Region, and Liliia Bevz, Head of the Children's Services of the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council.

The team from Educational and Scientific Institute No. 1 won the brain ring. The winners received a cup and Constitutionalist diplomas, and the participating teams received certificates. All participants were also treated to sweet prizes.
