Associate Professor of the Department of Tactical and Special Training of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs Tykhin SHEVCHENKO conducted a series of lectures for applicants for the second (master's) level of higher education at Turība University in Riga (Latvia).

The classes were devoted to ensuring the stability of protected objects using modern technological means and protection against current threats. Among the listeners were not only students, but also representatives of the public and private security sectors, heads of security services of enterprises, institutions and organizations, as well as university teachers.

During the lectures, the issues of protecting critical infrastructure were discussed, taking into account the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, countering enemy UAVs, preventing unauthorized penetration into protected areas. The topic also included the functioning of control systems, alerts, mechanisms for forecasting and neutralizing potential threats. Particular attention was paid to personal safety, increasing the stability of facilities, and means of individual and collective protection.

At the end of the visit, Tykhin SHEVCHENKO met with the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Ivo Krievs, and the Head of the Security Department, Kārlis Apalups. They discussed prospects for further cooperation, including the participation of representatives of both institutions in international educational and scientific projects.
