The right to drive: stories of graduates of the barrier-free driving school of KhNUIA
НАВС

Three graduates of the “Barrier-Free Driving School” of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs successfully passed the practical exam and received a driver’s license. This is another important step towards independence, mobility and a confident future.

Ihor Kharchenko is a war veteran who has been defending Ukraine since 2014 and since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. In 2024, he was seriously injured in Donetsk direction, losing his right lower limb. Today, Igor is gradually recovering from what he experienced. He is supported by his wife and friends, and a new driver’s license is another step towards returning to an active life and inner freedom.

Andrii Kuz, who is only 18 years old, has had a disability since childhood, but is confidently building his future. He is currently a first-year student at a medical college. Having mastered the theory on his own, Andriy successfully passed the practical exam and proved: perseverance and determination open up new horizons.

Yevhenii Rednikin received a disability as a result of an industrial injury. He and his wife are engaged in agriculture, so a driver's license for him is not just a document, but a real necessity for everyday life and work. From now on, he has more opportunities to be mobile and independent.

All three graduates mastered the theoretical course on their own, and they acquired practical skills already at the driving school. They speak especially warmly about the instructors, noting their professionalism, support and ability to find an approach to everyone.

Their stories are about strength of spirit, endurance and the desire to live a full life. The “Barrier-Free Driving School” of KhNUIA helps not only learn to drive a car, but also confidently hold the steering wheel of your own life.
The project "Barrier-Free Driving Schools", implemented as part of the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska "Without Barriers", is designed to create equal opportunities for everyone who wants to learn how to drive a car.
