Professional competencies of future officers: participation in the Academy of Electoral Integrity
НАВС

Yevhenii Novikov, a cadet of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, took part in the first module of the Academy of Electoral Integrity, which was held in Kyiv. For three days, the participants worked on modern approaches to the organization and management of election processes, studied risk assessment methods, information security issues and mechanisms for combating disinformation. A separate block was devoted to ethical leadership and making balanced decisions in difficult organizational conditions.

Yevhenii actively participated in discussions and practical classes. This made it possible to think more deeply about the principles of functioning of democratic institutions and the importance of integrity in professional activity. During the training, special attention was paid to the analysis of potential threats, assessment of the security situation and development of effective solutions in non-standard circumstances – to competencies important for official activities.

The lessons were conducted by Leading Experts and Practitioners in the field of Electoral Law, Information Security and Democratic Governance, in particular Oleksandr Shevchenko, Iryna Kovalchuk, Dmytro Lytvynenko, Olha Aivazovska and Vasyl Lutsyk.

Academy – is not only a curriculum, but also a space for professional dialogue, where common values, critical thinking and a responsible attitude to democratic procedures are formed.

The next face-to-face session is scheduled for March 13-15, 2026, and the online preparation phase is currently underway.

The organizer of the initiative is the Civic Network OPORA –, an independent Ukrainian analytical center with more than 15 years of experience in developing a culture of participation and support of democratic processes, which ensures impartial observation and objectivity in its activities.
