A charity half-marathon “Vinnytsia RUN CUP 2026” was held in Vinnytsia, which brought together about 1,500 participants to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Veterans - employees of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs - joined the sports event: Assistant to the Rector for Work with Veterans Oleksandr Hovorukha and vehicle driver Oles Berynskyi.

Both veterans suffered serious injuries as a result of the war and lost their lower limbs. Despite this, they covered a distance of three kilometers - on one leg and with crutches, demonstrating indomitability, willpower and a true fighting spirit. Compared to previous races, the athletes significantly improved their results.

ОOleksandr Hovorukha noted that he dedicated his race to his comrades who gave their lives for Ukraine: “Every meter of this distance was about memory, honor and gratitude to those who will never stand next to us at the start. Such events unite people around the support of our military and remind us of the price at which Ukraine’s freedom is being fought for.”
