KhNUIA: Through sports - to recovery

The university continues classes within the framework of the program of the MIA of Ukraine, aimed at the recovery of veterans through sports, their physical rehabilitation, psychological relief and return to active life. This time, a fitness cross training was held for the veteran of the war for the independence of Ukraine Vasyl Savytskyi.

The class was aimed at developing strength qualities, strengthening physical endurance and restoring the body's functional capabilities. During training, bench press and barbell squat exercises were performed, which contribute to the development of strength, coordination of movements and general strengthening of the musculoskeletal system. Such loads are important components of physical rehabilitation, because they help to gradually return to an active lifestyle and restore confidence in one's own abilities.

The training was conducted by Andrii Ladyniak, a Lecturer of the Department of Special Physical Training. During the class, he selected exercises taking into account the physical condition of the veteran, paying attention to the correct execution technique, safe loading and gradual restoration of physical shape.

From 2015 to 2024, Vasyl Savytskyi served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In February 2022, during hostilities near Volnovakha, he was captured, and already in April he was released during the first exchange. After his return, he continued his service, performed combat missions and trained servicemen in working with anti-tank systems. During the war, he was wounded, but retained his fortitude and desire to move forward.

oday, Vasyl Savytskyi is actively engaged in volunteer activities, supports his brothers, and sports choose as an important way to recover from the war – a way to strengthen physical shape, restore internal balance and return to a full life.

The participation of KhNUIA in the initiatives of the MIA of Ukraine aimed at the restoration of defenders through physical activity is an important component of supporting veterans, their physical rehabilitation, psychological recovery and social adaptation.
