The annual ranking of Ukrainian higher education institutions according to the Scopus scientometric database has been published on the Osvita.ua website. This year's ranking includes 219 Ukrainian higher education institutions. The ranking was carried out according to the Hirsch index - an indicator based on the number of scientific publications and the level of their citation.

According to the results of the 2026 ranking, Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs confirmed its status as a leader among the institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system that train police officers and demonstrated positive dynamics. With an h-index of 24, the university took 114th place, rising by 5 positions compared to the previous year.

Scopus is a bibliographic and abstract database that indexes more than 30 thousand scientific publications in the fields of technical, medical and humanities. It is one of the key tools for tracking the citation rate of scientific publications and is used in the formation of the world's leading university rankings.
