On the initiative of the Department of Humanities and Ukrainian Studies of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, the University Language and Literature Club «Word. Weapons. Law» began its work, the purpose of which is to deepen knowledge about the historical, literary and cultural significance of the Ukrainian language, to form a high language culture as the basis of law and statehood. The event was held in a mixed format and brought together cadets and students.

Nataliia Yelnikova, Head of the Department of Humanities and Ukrainian Studies, addressed the participants with a welcome speech, who spoke about the main tasks of the club, priority areas of activity aimed at the development and strengthening of the national and civic identity of young people.

Associate Professor Nataliia Kobylko emphasized the benefits of reading fiction, the skills it develops, in particular: creativity, critical and analytical thinking, attention. The lecturer also outlined activities within the language and literature club, topics of meetings and books for discussion. At the end, the participants watched a video by Pavlo Vyshebaba «My generation», which emphasized the importance of the proposed initiative.

University Language and Literature Club «Word. Weapons. Law» – is an interactive space for studying the history, culture, language and literature of our country. The next meeting will take place in February. For discussion, we offer the book «I transform...» by Volodymyr Vakulenko-K. and poetry by Victoriia Amelina.
