The project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine within the framework of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space at the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena ZELENSKA “Without Barriers” continues to be successfully implemented on the basis of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs in Kamianets-Podilskyi. During the period of operation of the Driving School, 332 people have mastered the theoretical course, and 128 have mastered the practical course. Training is provided for different categories of the population. The driving school provides an opportunity to become drivers for people with musculoskeletal disorders and those who communicate in sign language. Oleksandr MARUNCHAK said: “We have created all the conditions for training so that students receive quality knowledge. If necessary, instructors in theory and practice will always help and provide additional consultations. The other day, a group consisting of participants in hostilities and members of their families completed the theoretical course. In accordance with the signed Agreement on Cooperation with the Department of Social Protection of the Population of Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council, they mastered this course for free. Soon they will begin practical classes. We continue to cooperate with the leadership of territorial communities and public organizations. We inform the population about the opportunities for people with disabilities to study at KhNUIA Driving School. Today, the cost of training for people with disabilities for the entire course is 6,000 hryvnias (excluding fuel costs). If those interested express a desire to become students of our Driving School, the executive committees of communities are developing a mechanism for reimbursement of training costs. Candidate drivers apply to the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs twice: once after the theoretical module to pass the theory and get admission to practice, and then after the practical training module to successfully pass the practice and get a driver's license.
