The teams of the Legal Clinics of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs in Vinnytsia and Kamianets-Podilskyi took part in the Second Vasyl Ovsiienko Debate Tournament «Human rights in the context of Ukraine's European integration». The event was held on the initiative of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union in cooperation with the Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine as part of a project aimed at developing the institutional capacity of legal clinics and promoting human rights in the context of Ukraine's European integration.

According to the results of the tournament, the team of the Legal Clinic of KhNUIA in Vinnytsia, which included cadets of the Educational and Research Institute No. 2 Daria SALNICHENKO and Yevhenii NOVIKOV, took a place among the semi-finalists, demonstrating a high level of argumentation, teamwork and a thorough understanding of contemporary European approaches to human rights. The team was coached by Yuliia ZAHUMENNA, Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law.

The team of the Legal Clinic of KhNUIA in Kamianets-Podilskyi, represented by students of the Educational and Research Institute No. 5 Viktoriia KUZEMA and Nataliia KLYMCHUK, also showed worthy results and performed confidently in the qualifying stages of the tournament. The participants were trained by Olena DOVHAN, Associate Professor of the Department of Law Enforcement. Methodological support for both teams was provided by Andrii VOITSIKHOVSKYI, Professor of the Department of Constitutional, International and Human Rights Law.

The tournament programme included training sessions on argumentation, counter argumentation and analytics, as well as qualifying and final rounds of debates. Particular attention was paid to the protection of human rights in the context of Ukraine's European integration, the application of European Union and Council of Europe standards, and the development of legal thinking and public speaking skills.
