During a practical lesson in the discipline ‘Tactical and Special Training’ on the basics of topography and terrain orientation, future investigators were introduced to the classification and nomenclature of topographic maps, types of relief, tactical features of the terrain, as well as the rules for using instruments to determine the sides of the horizon and conduct observation.

Cadets improved their practical skills in terrain orientation, determining azimuth and distances using various methods. The lesson was conducted using topographic maps of various scales, observation and orientation devices, which made it possible to bring the training as close as possible to the real conditions of service activity.

The training lesson was conducted by scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Tactical and Special Training of the ERI No. 2 in cooperation with a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
