A Language That Unites: KhNUIA Hosts Creative Meetings with Writers from Vinnytsia Region
НАВС

On the occasion of the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, staff members of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Affairs organised creative meetings with writers and poets from Vinnytsia Region for students of the Educational and Research Institutes and Kremenchuk Flight College of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs (KhNUIA).

The events were attended by representatives of the “SlovoDiie” civic initiative: Svitlana Vykhovanka, a Vinnytsia-based poet, writer, educator, and author of several books; Iryna Maliarska, an author of lyrical poetry and poetry collections; and poet Alina Sukharieva. Poets Oksana Movchan and Oleh Krushelnytskyi also participated in the creative meetings.

During the events, the guests presented their published works, shared insights into their creative journeys, discussed the stories behind their poems, and reflected on the significance of the Ukrainian word in society. Cadets had the opportunity to listen to poetry recited by the authors themselves, discover new literary publications, and engage with writers for whom the Ukrainian language is a source of inspiration, self-expression, and national identity.

Poetry readings created a special atmosphere, bringing participants together through their shared appreciation of the Ukrainian language, culture, and literature. As a memento of the meetings, the writers presented cadets with postcards featuring their poems and donated books to the KhNUIA library.

In addition, staff members of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Affairs conducted educational and awareness-raising sessions for cadets. These sessions focused on the history and development of the Ukrainian language, its importance in preserving national identity, and its role in the professional activities of future law enforcement officers.

Such meetings help foster a culture of reading among young people, encourage respect for the Ukrainian language, promote contemporary Ukrainian literature, and raise awareness of its essential role in preserving national memory and spiritual values.
