Training under fire LazerTag: how KhNUIA cadets master modern combat tactics
НАВС

Valerii Shvets, senior lecturer of the Department of Tactical and Special Training at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, together with instructors from the 120th Separate Brigade of Territorial Defense of the AFU and Chervona Kalyna Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, conducted regular tactical and special training session.

This time, cadets practiced the tactics of small groups during the completion of service and fighting missions.

As Valerii Shvets noted, the main goal of the classes is to prepare future law enforcement officers for action in real, rapidly changing conditions.

"We train cadets to act as part of small tactical groups: we study methods of movement and deployment in wooded areas, practice elements of camouflage, communication and management, as well as algorithms for searching for and detaining armed criminals. Such training helps everyone to understand their role in the unit and to act in a coordinated and safe manner," the instructor emphasized.

Instructors from the 120th Brigade of the TDF and the NGB ‘Chervona Kalyna’ emphasized that the practical part included a number of important training elements:

tactical deployment and movement of small groups in wooded areas;

elements of camouflage;

organization of the search for armed criminals by the NPU;

actions of police officers while detecting and neutralizing armed offenders;

features of the use of small arms and conducting fire contact;

organization of communication and management within a tactical group.

A special feature of the training was the use of the LazerTag system, which simulates real combat conditions without the use of live ammunition. This approach allows to practise combat skills in safe conditions that are as close as possible to real-life situations.

“LazerTag technology allows cadets to experience the psychological stress that arises during combat and learn to react quickly to changing situations,” the instructors noted.

Thanks to these classes, cadets not only gain practical experience, but also develop important professional qualities – determination, cohesion and readiness to act in extreme conditions.
