Tetiana Matiushkova, Head of the International Cooperation Department, and Kostiantyn Buhaychuk, Head of the Research Laboratory on on the Problems of Legal Support of Police Activities and Combating Crime, participated in the seventh meeting of the Interagency Expert Group tasked with developing a leadership training program for law enforcement agencies. The working session took place in Košice, Slovak Republic.
It was organized by the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine in cooperation with the University of Security Management in Košice (VSBM) and CEIDA (an Italian business management training center).
This seventh meeting marked the final stage of international collaboration on a unified training program designed to develop leadership competencies among Ukrainian law enforcement executives. The program's content incorporates modern European approaches to professional training.
The curriculum covers leadership concepts, strategic thinking, critical analysis and managerial decision-making, change and conflict management, leadership communication, emotional intelligence development, and human potential management. Specific modules focus on fostering an inclusive professional environment and developing organizational culture.
As part of the visit, participants attended a lecture by Mike Maric—a physician, researcher, and developer of breathing techniques. Additionally, Matteo Maserati—a CEIDA trainer and expert in public communication and change management—conducted a training session titled "Leadership and Soft Skills in Reshaping Ukraine's Future." Representatives of KhNUIA also visited the University of Security Management in Košice, where they toured the institution's educational, research, and training facilities and participated in the international conference "Professional Development Program on Modern Security Challenges."
Professional interactions with representatives and students from European universities provided an opportunity to exchange experience regarding the training of law enforcement professionals and to establish new professional contacts. Plans are in place to leverage these connections to involve experts from European universities in KhNUIA’s international educational and research events as well as grant projects.
