At Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, the implementation of the «Barrier-free driving school» project, aimed at expanding opportunities for people with disabilities to acquire driving skills, is ongoing.

One of the participants of the – program, Maksym Mykhailyshyn –, successfully passed the first stage of preparation for obtaining a driver's license and passed the theoretical exam.

«It is very important that today there are more opportunities for people with disabilities to move freely and realize themselves. For me, a – driver's license is about mobility and independence», – Maksym notes.

A practical stage awaits Maksym ahead, after which he will take up driving practice.

As part of the implementation of the «Barrier-free driving school» project, conditions are being created at KhNUIA for comfortable training of future drivers, in particular, specially equipped transport with manual steering is used, which allows people with disabilities to master driving skills and confidently take practical exams.
