Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs held events for the Day of Knowledge and the end of the camp training for first-year cadets in all cities of Ukraine, where the educational and scientific institutes of the university were relocated.
After the raising of the University Flag, the raising of the State Flag of Ukraine and the performance of the Anthem of Ukraine, those present honored with a minute of silence the bright memory, civic courage, strength of spirit, resilience and heroic feat of all who paid with their lives during the performance of the combat mission to protect the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as peaceful citizens who died as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
A solemn moment of presenting the first shoulder straps to the first-year students who entered Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and successfully completed the camp training took place.
The Rector of the university, Valerii SOKURENKO, read out a congratulatory message to the staff on the occasion of the Day of Knowledge and the beginning of the new academic year from the Board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor KLYMENKO. “For first-year students, this day is special – it marks the beginning of a new stage in life, when the foundation of their professional future is laid. Whether the dreams of becoming defenders of law and order, the life and health of citizens, the state border, and the territorial integrity of our country will come true will depend on perseverance and diligence. 34 years ago, Ukraine made its historic choice – to be a free and independent state. Every day, our Defenders fight for Ukraine’s right to independence at the cost of their own lives. Every day, thousands of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system make the country safer, more modern, and better with their tireless work,” the congratulatory message says. “Remember: your knowledge and successful studies are a contribution to the cause of our Heroes and a worthy continuation of their feat.”
The Rector of the university thanked the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their help and support during this extremely difficult wartime. Addressing the youth, he emphasized: “A significant event in the lives of first-year students is the first shoulder straps! I am sure that you will be worthy of those graduates who serve today and have achieved significant success. I am convinced that future leaders of the National Police, Rectors, Ministers stand in this ranks. You must study in such a way that you can hold your weapon firmly, so that together you will definitely defend the sovereignty, independence and integrity of our state. Glory to Ukraine!”
In Khmelnytskyi region, on behalf of the Rector Valerii SOKURENKO, Vice-rector Oleksandr MUZYCHUK congratulated the graduates of higher education. He urged the youth to study diligently: “The awarding of cadet shoulder straps is the beginning of a new period in your life, your readiness to serve society and ensure security and order in the state. Our university has given a ticket to life to thousands of talented graduates who successfully and devotedly serve and protect the people of Ukraine throughout our state. You have someone to take an example from. I am sure that all of you will be good specialists, patriots of your Motherland. Glory to Ukraine!
The festivities ended with the musical composition "Epaulettes" performed by participants of the university's amateur art activities. Classes began for cadets and students according to the schedule.
