A seminar-training was held at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs for scientific and pedagogical workers of educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on the thematic area "Features of teaching educational components "Criminal law qualification", "Criminal process", "Forensic science"".

In order to develop interdisciplinary ties in the field of criminal law sciences and educational components, as well as to strengthen the practical component of their teaching for higher education applicants in specialties D8 "Law" and K9 "Law enforcement activities", lectures and practical classes were held. During the event, the participants considered the current issues of organizing a special pre-trial investigation under martial law, the features of collecting and recording evidence during the investigation of crimes related to armed aggression against Ukraine.

Considerable attention was paid to the problematic aspects of forensic support for the investigation of criminal offenses in the field of illegal trafficking in weapons, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices under martial law, the implementation of child-friendly justice standards in the activities of pre-trial investigation bodies and the court, as well as conducting procedural interviews.

The lecturers of the training were experienced scientific and pedagogical workers of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs - Doctors of Law, Professors Yurii Orlov, Vlada Husieva and Tetiana Fomina.

The practical part of the event was aimed at practicing algorithms of actions during the investigation of crimes related to the armed conflict in the conditions of a special pre-trial investigation, as well as at improving the skills and abilities of using modern technical and forensic means equipped with mobile forensic laboratories.

Special attention was paid to ensuring compliance with international standards for conducting procedural interviews and applying child-friendly justice tools and approaches.
The practical part of the training seminar was provided by representatives of the investigative units and forensic support units of the MDNP in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi and Vinnytsia regions.

Specialists from units that investigate crimes committed in the conditions of armed conflict, crimes against life and health of a person, as well as criminal proceedings involving children, also joined the training.

Certain practical and methodological aspects were highlighted by representatives of the National Scientific Center "Hon. Prof. M. S. Bokarius Forensic Science Institute", who shared modern developments in the field of forensic expertise, forensic and military research.

The knowledge and practical skills acquired by the participants during the training will be used to improve the educational process in higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, its adaptation to the challenges of wartime, as well as to introduce practical experience of the activities of pre-trial investigation bodies of the National Police and expert institutions into the system of training police officers.
