War veterans regain strength, coordination and confidence at KhNUIA
НАВС

After being injured, life changes, but it does not stop. New opportunities, new goals and new victories often begin with a simple thing - to make the next move. This is what adaptive sports classes for war veterans, which are ongoing at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, are focused on.

A combat participant, Serhii Rachynskyi, a serviceman of the 48th separate mechanized brigade, joined the training. While performing a combat mission near Robotyn, Zaporizhzhia region, he was seriously injured, as a result of which he suffered an amputation.

Returning to physical activity after such an experience requires time, perseverance and a correctly selected load. Therefore, each lesson is built taking into account the individual capabilities of the participant - without unnecessary haste, but with constant movement forward.

This time, the training for Serhii was conducted by a senior lecturer at the Department of Special Physical Training, Mykhailo Inshekov. The complex included coordination and strength exercises, work with weights and a medicine ball. They were aimed at developing strength, flexibility, agility, endurance, coordination and control of movements. Each exercise has its own task: to strengthen muscles, improve balance, work out coordination or help to better control movements. At the same time, training is not about competing with others. It is an opportunity to test your own strength, see your progress and gradually expand the boundaries of what is possible.
