Representatives of scientific institutions and higher education institutions joined the information forum dedicated to the European Union's Horizon Europe Program, in particular its cluster 3 "Civil Security for Society".

Head of the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine Department of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, Ihor TARANOV, familiarized the audience with the structure and functions of the Office, in particular with its role in supporting potential applicants, finding partners, consulting on the preparation of applications and budgets. Mr. TARANOV emphasized that Ukraine has all the prerequisites for active participation in the program, and the number of Ukrainian projects is growing every year.
Olha KURIKINA, Chief Specialist of the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine Department of the National University of Ukraine, provided participants with practical information on project budget formation. The speech was aimed at those who plan to apply for funding and included advice and recommendations on avoiding typical mistakes.
Oleksandr CHEMERYS, a representative of the National Contact Point for the direction “Civil Security for Society” from the Institute for Modeling Problems in Energy named after H. Ye. Pukhov of the NAS of Ukraine, analyzed the results of the participation of Ukrainian organizations in Cluster 3 competitions in 2024. He gave examples of successful projects, focused on relevant topics of competitions, such as the fight against terrorism, infrastructure protection and cybersecurity, and shared his thoughts on increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian applications.
Oleksii SERDIUK, a representative of KhNUIA and the National Committee for this direction, presented the general requirements for Cluster 3 competitions in 2025. His report was dedicated to innovations and changes in the conditions of participation and the importance of involving representatives of security and law enforcement agencies as end users of research results..jpg)
After the reports, a question and answer session was held, which allowed participants to obtain additional information on the preparation and submission of project applications.
