How to identify a crime related to human trafficking, properly organize work with victims, and use digital evidence during investigations — these and other issues were addressed by university cadets during the Autumn School on Combating Human Trafficking.
The training was organized by the OSCE Support Programme for Ukraine with the assistance of the International Cooperation Department of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs (KhNUIA). The participants included KhNUIA cadets studying in the fields of “Law” and “Law Enforcement” — Kyrylo Maltsev, Mark Korostylov, Maksym Slobodianiuk, and Artem Lysiuk.

The programme combined theoretical training with practical assignments. Future law enforcement professionals studied algorithms for detecting and investigating human trafficking crimes, including cases involving sexual exploitation of children. Separate sessions focused on communication with victims, conducting investigative procedures, and working with digital evidence.

Upon completion of the training, the cadets successfully completed the Autumn School and received certificates.
The event was held within the framework of the international technical assistance project of the OSCE Support Programme for Ukraine entitled “Strengthening Ukraine’s Capacity to Combat Human Trafficking through Institutional Reform and Strategic Capacity Development.”
