For first-year students of the Faculties No. 1 and No. 4, who entered Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, the training camp has ended. On behalf of the Rector of the university, Police General of the third rank Valerii Sokurenko, the Vice-Rector of the university, Police Colonel Serhii Bortnyk, congratulated the young men and women: "Your main task is to study diligently, be inquisitive, proactive and persistent. We create all the necessary conditions for quality acquisition of the necessary knowledge and skills. The powerful scientific and pedagogical staff of the university - lecturers, trainers, commanders, mentors - will share their knowledge and experience with you, will educate and serve with you throughout the years of study at the university. Take care of the good name of a cadet of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, multiply the glory of our veterans, meet the expectations of those who will contribute to your professional development!”.
As Serhii Bortnyk pointed out, the training camp is one of the most difficult and extremely important stages for everyone who decides to become a police officer. "The process of adaptation has taken place. Both the daily schedule and workload were new for all of you, but you successfully completed all the tasks. This is the first step towards forming you as future specialists of the National Police of Ukraine. Today the war is going on. A lot of law enforcement officers with weapons in their hands confront the enemy on the front lines, serve in territorial defense units, ensure the safety of citizens in the cities and villages of our state". The Vice-Rector thanked the cadets' parents for supporting the children in their professional choice.
Those present honored with a minute of silence the memory, courage, loyalty and heroism of the soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom, unity and independence of Ukraine, as well as civilians who died as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. The event was attended by Deans of the Faculties, Heads of structural units of the university, parents and relatives of cadets. The event ended with the presentation of epaulettes to first-year students. After the festivities, a sports festival took place.
