The students of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs took part in the final stage of the Contest in an online format, which is held annually to form national consciousness, patriotism through creative activity and deepening knowledge about the life and legacy of Taras Shevchenko, identifying gifted youth, developing their creative potential.

At the third stage of the competition, two finalists represented KhNUIA: cadet Diana Humeniuk (mentored by Olena OVERCHUK, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Humanities and Ukrainian Studies, Candidate of Philology) and student Olha DOMITRYSHYNA (mentored by Nataliia KOBYLKO, Associate Professor at the Department of Humanities and Ukrainian Studies, Candidate of Philology).

The participants of the large-scale intellectual competition were greeted online by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen LISOVYI and the Commissioner for the Protection of the Ukrainian Language Taras KREMIN, who emphasized the importance of linguistic and literary competitions for the development and functioning of the state language and wished the strongest to win in a fair fight.
The competition, which was held once again in the midst of a full-scale war, showed that Taras Shevchenko's work in the 21st century encourages young people to reflect on the meaning of life and realize that the Great Kobzar was and remains a wise prophet and symbol of Ukrainian identity for many generations of Ukrainians.
