Higher education students of KhNUIA put flowers to the memorial signs of the Holocaust victims
НАВС

With a minute of silence, the cadets honored the memory of millions of innocent Jews and representatives of other national minorities killed during World War II.

The Holocaust is the term used to describe the brutal policy of persecution and mass extermination of Jews by the Nazis during World War II. On November 1, 2005, the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 60/7, which states that “the Holocaust, which resulted in the extermination of one third of the Jews and countless others, will always serve as a warning to all people of the dangers of hatred, bigotry, racism and prejudice...”.

It was this document that declared January 27 as Holocaust Remembrance Day. On this day in 1945, the troops of the 1st Ukrainian Front entered the Nazi death camp Auschwitz, which became a symbol of Nazi crimes.
