Senior lecturer of the Department of Tactical and Special Training of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs Oleksandr SKLIAR and instructor of the 120th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yevhen UMANETS conducted a binary lesson for students in the academic discipline "Tactical and Special Training" on the topic "Basics of Topography and Orientation".

During the lesson, the cadets learned to work with topographic maps, study the terrain, determine distances and heights, set coordinates. They practiced target designation, movement by azimuth, orientation by compass and determination of landmarks. In addition, students practiced identifying the sides of the horizon and applying methods for measuring distances on the ground.
